About Creative Art by Bernard

You may have also  have viewed my Art under one of the following heading;

One Painting At a Time

Maxine's Art Studio and Gallery

In 2010 I was introduced to painting and the Art world through a Art Therapy program with the Veterinarian Administration to help aid with the symptoms of P.T.S.D. (Resulting from my time spent in Vietnam.) I can't tell you how much joy I've found in painting. In the very first class when I picked up a brush and put paint to a canvas the light of joy and freedom became my beacon in the storm.  A light, I hope, that never goes out

I would like to thank those who have helped me along the way, as I would never have gotten to this moment without them.

BIOGRAPHY

At an early time in my life I was inspired by an older brother that had a natural talent for drawing, but had no interest in doing so.

Then came along Paint by Number that took me up to high school where all thoughts of Art vanished.

Then came four years in the Marine Corps where I did a tour in the Vietnam war. Shortly after leaving the service I was married and went to work for and retired from Stanford University

 I love to travel and play golf. At one time, I thought golf was all I needed. Now, of course, painting is my passion.

In 2010 I was introduced to painting and the Art world through an Art Therapy program to help aid with the symptoms of P.T.S.D. (Resulting from my time spent in Vietnam.) I can't tell you how much joy I've found in painting. In the very first class when I picked up a brush and put paint to a canvas the light of joy and freedom became my beacon in the storm.  A light, I hope, that never goes out.
The hours I spend in my little studio just seem to fly away. I have often wonder how the 'Great Artists' were able to complete their work, as I know for me, by the time I start one project  two  more ideas are already floating in my head. When I hear others comment about their work saying "It just needs a little more touches here and there", I laugh.... been there, done that.

the majority of my work is with Acrylics  in an Jackson Pollock abstract style. Where paint is poured, splattered, dripped and fling. I also do some Spray Paint Art with even a  little dabble in Watercolors. My photographic side of my work come from years ago when I had shoe boxes full of pictures with no idea what to do with them. Now Computers makes then easy store and manage.

I would like to thank those who have helped me along the way, as I would never have gotten to this moment without them.

 So, if you ever thought about wanting  to paint or draw and didn't,  just give it a try you may be surprised at yourself.

Thank you for taking the time to view my work. May you find the same joy in looking that I found in the making. One Painting At A time.

As owner/operator Maxine's Art Studio and Gallery It is my hope that one day I came offer the gallery as a Co-Op for Veterans as a place to work and sale their art.
